Club Curo is a marketplace built for how Jamaica actually shops.

Kinda designed but definetly built a full-stack multi-vendor marketplace connecting Jamaican consumers with local vendors and farm-fresh produce, with zone-based delivery, a commission settlement engine, and integrated local payments.

The gap

Jamaica has a huge informal retail economy local vendors, home-based food businesses, small farmers selling direct. But there's no reliable digital infrastructure that connects them to buyers on their terms. Existing platforms are built for markets that look nothing like Jamaica's: the payment rails are wrong, the delivery assumptions don't hold, and the seller onboarding assumes a level of e-commerce fluency that most small operators don't have. Club Curo started as an answer to that gap.

What it is

Club Curo is a multi-vendor marketplace with two sides: Curo Store, for food, groceries, and everyday retail; and grō, a farm-to-consumer channel that connects urban buyers directly with local farmers. Delivery is calculated by zone rather than flat rate, vendor commissions settle automatically through a custom settlement engine, and payments run through DimePay, a payment rail built for the Jamaican market.

Building it

I designed and built Club Curo as a full-stack application, handling everything from information architecture and interface design through to the engineering. The stack is Next.js 15, TypeScript, Supabase, and Cloudflare Workers. Doing both meant every design decision was grounded in what was actually buildable, and every engineering decision was shaped by the experience I wanted consumers and vendors to have.

The harder design problem

The UX challenge was checkout and vendor onboarding. Getting small business owners to list their products digitally, upload photos, set prices, and manage orders meant designing flows that assumed very little prior experience with e-commerce tools. Every step of vendor onboarding was designed to be completable on a phone, in under ten minutes, without needing a laptop.
